The All New Alfa Romeo MiTo

The all new Alfa Romeo MiTo is giving the Australian car market a pure Alfa Romeo sports car which is sleek and compact with a choice of two turbo charged engines matched to six speed gearboxes. This makes it a performance car that sets a new benchmark for performance, style and technology.

Alfa Romeo came up with the name MiTo to link the future and past between Milan, which brought the car’s new style into being, and Turin which is in charge of its production.

The Alfa Romeo MiTo is focused totally on safety, performance and style without any compromise. making it a strong, compact car with mastery of the road and an energetic personality of its own. It has great road-holding ability with maximum stability in high-speed maneuvers and the agility of a true Alfa Romeo over tight mixed routes.

The MiTo is fitted with the Q2 Electronic system that effectively provides it with a limited slip differential. This means that not only can MiTo accelerate to 100 km/h in just 8.0 seconds; it can also corner with unsurpassed panache.

On normal cars, the inner wheel loses grip and the trajectory swings wide when the car accelerates out of a bend: with the Q2 Electronic system, on the other hand, the traction control device brakes the inner wheel and redistributes the torque, applying it to the outer wheel with the greatest grip. This maintains the desired trajectory with optimum traction

The new Alfa Romeo is also fitted with the new Alfa Romeo D.N.A. system which acts on the brakes, steering, engine, gearbox and suspension which gives the driver three different vehicle behavior modes allowing them to choose the driving style that best suits them.

The three modes are ‘normal’ for driving around town, ‘all weather’ giving the driver maximum safety especially in wet or slippery conditions and ‘Dynamic’ which makes it a super sport giving both driver and passengers an exhilarating yet safe drive
